What does a joy filled home mean for you?
This post is inspired by an odd comment I received recently.
“My home is filled with joy”
I love this affirmation, and it’s certainly something I intentionally create every day.
This morning I took some time to check comments on my Pinterest images.
The words on the image say My home is filled with joy.
It’s linked to this post on my Coach Wendy Blog — Wonderful Affirmations for Joy
The comment I received was this…
If that is the case, you should not have time to bother others.
Weird, right?
There was a time that a comment like this may have upset me, frustrated me, or even made me feel angry.
Instead, it made me smile and inspired this story.
I replied…
“Interesting comment. I find joy in connecting with others. I encourage you to find joy wherever you can and stay away from things that you feel are bothersome.”
Maybe I shouldn’t have interacted, but I couldn’t resist.
I genuinely hope this person takes this on board and looks for the joy in their life.
Look for the joy in your life.
I’m not sure what the person thinks joy is. Maybe it’s a home filled with people and busy, busy…
I know this is how some of my friends would describe joy, but it’s not my idea of a joy-filled home. At least not all the time.
I certainly do like to have people in my home, and busy times, but not all the time.
Right now, I’m experiencing so much joy in my home.
I’m sitting on the sofa writing. The sun’s shining on me through the window. Indie, my dog, is sleeping next to me. I’m relaxed and happy.
I certainly have the time today for things I enjoy, and that includes sharing with people, whether here, on Pinterest or other platforms.
A joy-filled home to me is a place I enjoy, whether on my own or with others.
It’s a cosy sofa with blankets and my pets.
It’s plants and candles.
It’s chats in the kitchen whilst preparing a meal.
If mugs of tea and cake with my sisters when they drop by for a chat.
It’s dancing around my living room in my pyjamas to my favourite songs.
It’s afternoon naps.
It’s writing, reading, connecting…
It’s sometimes messy and disorganized, but it’s home and so often filled with so much joy.
Thanks for joining me for a while today.
