I’m a Law of Attraction Practitioner and a question that I get asked regularly is "Is the law of attraction positive thinking?"
I can totally understand why people think this and yes, positive thinking is a powerful technique to help you effectively use the law of attraction and attract the things you want.
However, it's not the whole picture. In this post, I want to help you understand how positive thinking works with the law of attraction, how to keep your thoughts positive, and what else is important for manifesting.
What is the law of attraction?
The law of attraction is a Universal Law. It's not something you choose or don't choose. Think of it in the same way that gravity is a part of our life.
You can't use it one day and not bother with it the next. It's always there.
The law of attraction is different from Gravity in that if we don't understand it, it can and often does give us what we don't want. Most people have a default setting, and they attract randomly, some things they want and some things they don't want.
I try to help people create a law of attraction lifestyle so that they can deliberately attract the things they want in life.

Our thoughts
Feelings (it’s our feelings that are the most important but all of the other things create a feeling)
Beliefs
The things we say
The things we do.
It gives us whatever we are a vibrational match for, wanted or not. It doesn't care about us or know what's best for us, it just gives us what we are a match for. The most important thing to pay attention to is the way you feel.
Pay attention to your feelings and keep aiming for better feelings
I encourage you to read my Ultimate Law of Attraction Guide. People often tell me that my way of explaining the law of attraction resonates with them and makes sense more than with other things they've heard or read about the law of attraction.
Positive thinking
Positive thinking is something we can absolutely choose and YES it plays a huge part in using the law of attraction to help us attract the things we want. But it's just a part of the bigger picture.
Let me explain. If you spend all day making sure that your thoughts are positive, but your beliefs are crappy, then you won't be a match for what you want.
One will be kind of pulling in the things you want and the other will be pushing it away, blocking what you want. The FEELING doesn't match the thought. So you will need to work on your beliefs and feelings as well as your thinking.
If you spend all day thinking positively and then meet up with a friend in the evening and discuss how awful life is, you are not a match for what you want.
The thoughts in the day do not match the conversation in the evening and will lead to you blocking the things you want.
Now, I don't want to underplay the importance of positive thinking, without it, you're going to struggle to create a life you love. Positive thinking will help you to feel positive and create positive beliefs.
Thoughts become things
Mike Dooley is one of the speakers from the hit movie The Secret and he has become famous for his saying "Thoughts Become Things"
Keep this in mind as you go through each and every day. Thoughts do become things as long as your feelings, beliefs, the things you say, and the things you do are also a match.
Random negative thoughts
Okay, I want to just put this out there. A random negative thought that pops into your head is not going to instantly manifest something bad.
As soon as you catch yourself thinking about anything that doesn't support you in creating the life you want, swap it for a better-feeling thought.
But don't fall into the trap of panicking that you're attracting something you don't want, just because you've thought about it for a minute.
Affirmations
Affirmations are positive messages. I encourage you to fill your mind with positive affirmations that support you in creating the life and business you desire.

Every day in every way my life gets better and better...
Recommended reading - Morning Affirmations to set yourself up for a really great day. Your mind is very open to suggestions first thing in the morning, so you might as well fill it with positive messages that support you.
And also finish your day with Evening Affirmations - Your super positive messages will fill your mind and work with your subconscious mind and the universe to support you.
Affirmations and EFT
Affirmations on their own are powerful but when you combine them with EFT - Emotional Freedom Techniques they are amazing!!!
They help to clear resistance to the affirmation being true and raise your vibrations to be a match for the affirmation being true for you.

I love attraction statements. They are designed to specifically focus on attracting something into your life.
I'm in the process of attracting...
The Universe is in the process of lining everything up for me to attract...
I LOVE IT WHEN... (to be said as if the best thing ever has just happened to you)
Here's an example, I'm in the process of attracting an extra £500 this week. The Universe is lining everything up for me to attract an extra £500 this week. I LOVE IT WHEN an extra £500 shows up for me.
Here's an added bonus phrase - This or something better, thank you Universe. This means that you don't limit yourself to £500 but you've made it clear that's what you want.
Law of attraction and positive thinking
Okay, so now you know that the law of attraction is not just positive thinking but, positive thinking definitely plays a big part in successfully using the law of attraction to create the life you want - attract the things you want into your life.
You also have some powerful techniques to help keep your thoughts positive, affirmations, affirmations combined with EFT, hypnosis, and attraction statements.
Keep filling your mind with these powerful messages to support you in creating the life you want.
