Don't Be A Carbon Copy Of Someone You Admire, Instead, Do This!
You're unique and that's special. No-one on the planet can be exactly the same as you, and that makes each and every one of us special. Use it to your advantage.
Hey, how are you?
Thanks for spending some time with me today.
I have something I want you to think about today. It’s something that so many people never think about.
Who do you want to be?
I want you to get super clear about this.
I’m a big fan of being yourself and encourage this in many of my newsletters, but that doesn’t mean you can’t change things about yourself if you want to. I believe it’s good for all of us to improve ourselves throughout life, no matter how old we are.
One thing that I see happening a lot is people trying to be a kind of carbon copy of someone they admire. And it rarely works out well.
Instead, what I encourage is this.
Write down what it is you admire about the person.
Is it the way they treat people, the way they dress, the way they present themselves on stage, the way they lead their team, the kindness they show to others, how they keep themself fit and healthy?
Whatever it is that you admire about them, write it down.
Take a sheet of paper and create 4 columns, like this…
Write down the qualities of people you admire.
Write down what you consider to be your best qualities
Which qualities do you want to build?
How will you do this?
Build qualities in yourself that you abmire in others but keep the real you. Keep what makes you unique. This makes you very special.
Someone that I admired greatly was Louise Hay. Louise was and will always be the queen of affirmations in my eyes.
I loved her calmness, I loved how she presented herself and oozed self-love. I loved the way she looked at the world and shared her mind to help make her world a better place. Louise was super successful and recognised around the world as a leading voice in self-improvement.
I’m not Louise Hay; trying to present myself in her style would never work for me. I’d look and sound fake.
But what I took for myself was the desire to share a positive message with the world and to do that from a genuine desire to help people feel their best and be their best.
I knew that I wanted to be someone who put out positive energy, but I also had my own personal desire to be real with people and let people know that I’m not super positive all the time, and it’s okay.
Build qualities that you admire in others and add the uniqueness that is YOU!
Never lose the real you.
How will you work to build the qualities you admire?
I can’t give you the answer. But I can give you some tips.
Use positive messages (affirmations) that support you
Use EFT tapping - Emotional Freedom Techniques to release resistance, and you can use EFT with Affirmations to raise your vibrations around what you want.
Use Hypnosis Downloads - I use and recommend Hypnosis Downloads (please note that this is an affiliate link), not my own product.
Visualise yourself with those qualities
Role play (loads), already having the qualities you admire
Remind yourself every day of the person you want to be
Keep a best of me journal and make notes about times when you are being the person you want to be
When you don’t display the behaviour or qualities you want, review what happened and BE CURIOUS about how you could have behaved in a way you would have wanted.
Be curious rather than being judgemental or critical.
I hope I’ve given you something to think about today. Let me know?
