I wish you whatever you want for this new year. Whether it’s improved good health, prosperity, love, happiness, peace, security, success… I wish it for you.
I encourage you to take some time to focus on what you want for 2024 and beyond.
In the past when I’ve asked things like what do you want to achieve or what are your goals for the year, I’ve been met with silence and blank faces.
I’m a massive goal-setter so used to I assume everyone set goals and made plans each year, but they don’t and that’s okay.
I do encourage you to focus on how you want to feel. This is often easier for people.
People will often say “But I don’t know what I want”
Again, that’s okay. I don’t always know what I want, but I do always know how I want to feel.
Morning Questions
I love to ask myself these morning questions.
How do I want to feel today?
What do I want to achieve today?
We often associate achievements with business or work but an achievement is anything important to you that you want to do.
It could be as simple as I want to make time today for a soak in the bath.
Evening gratitude
Just as I start my day by focusing on what I want. I end my day focusing on what I’m grateful for specific to the day.
I acknowledge my achievements throughout the day. Big, small and everything in between.
I also focus on one thing (or more) that I’m looking forward to the next day. If I can’t think of anything, I add something.
Let’s say that I have to go somewhere I don’t particularly want to go. Maybe I’m not looking forward to the actual event, but I generally do enjoy driving and I like having my favourite music on in the car. I can look forward to the 30-minute drive listening to my favourite music and singing along.
It’s a small mindset shift but it can change how you feel. Put your focus on what you like.
Here are some lovely gratitude affirmations to try out. Affirmations help me to keep my mind positive.
