How To Use Positive Affirmations For Healthier Living
Fill your mind with positive messages supporting you as you create a healthier lifestyle.
Hi, thanks so much for spending time with me today.
Before I get started, here’s a little reminder that you can read all previous newsletters HERE
Today, I want to share some ideas with you about how to use affirmations to help with healthier living.
It’s so important to keep filling your mind with messages that support you and help you stay positive.
I’m not going to lie, healthy living isn’t something that comes naturally to me. I’ve struggled with my weight and enjoy sweet treats way too much. Plus, whenever I get the chance I’m sat down writing which I enjoy much more than exercising.
I need to constantly work on building healthier habits in my daily life. Affirmations help me to do this. So, I wanted to share them with you.
The idea of these affirmations is that they help to build positive healthy habits.

Use your affirmations to support your healthy living goals
I encourage you to get super clear about your healthy living goals.
Adapt the affirmations to suit your goals.
For example, I’m happy as long as I’ve done a quick walk with the dog and a short workout. I enjoy the walking workouts on YouTube.
For you, the goal might be to train for and complete a marathon.
I have an ongoing goal to drink 4 big glasses of water each day. I use affirmations to support this goal such as…
I love drinking water
I easily drink 4 big glasses of water each day
I feel nourished when I drink plenty of water
Drinking water helps me to maintain a healthy weight
Drinking water helps me to feel healthy
You’re retraining your mind so that it supports you in losing weight and becoming healthier. They’re reminders to do what you want to do.
When should I use my affirmations?
Anytime! It’s a good idea to say your affirmations when you wake up and before you go to sleep. This is the time when your subconscious mind is most open to new ideas.
But I encourage you to make affirmations a natural part of your day so that you’re feeding off these super positive messages all day long.
If you catch yourself saying something negative (unhelpful), swap it for a positive affirmation.
I love to say affirmations in front of the mirror at every opportunity, this is super powerful.
I’ve made it a habit to say at least one nice thing to myself every single time I pass a mirror or even catch a glimpse of my reflection. A little bit of self-love goes a long way.

More about using affirmations
I love affirmations and I’ve used them to support me in achieving the things I want in so many areas of my life over the past few years.
Sometimes people say to me that affirmations don’t work. This is how I see it. Make your affirmations positive but not unbelievable to you.
If I was to walk around saying to myself “I’m a super skinny, supermodel.” It wouldn’t fit what I want and my mind would reject this message as a lie.
It’s better to go for better-feeling statements.
It’s better to feed your mind positive affirmations to support ourselves than to go around thinking, and saying negative things to ourselves.
I wrote about step-up affirmations in this Newsletter
Fill your mind with these positive statements throughout the day and especially if you catch yourself feeling down, or hungry when you know you’re really not, negative about your efforts or your body…
You can use my ideas for affirmations or create your own. Give it a go and see what happens.
