Hi, Thanks for dropping by and spending some time with me. I appreciate you.
Oh my goodness, I nearly missed this milestone. My aim when I started this newsletter was simple. Keep going!
No matter what happened I was determined to publish at least 1 newsletter weekly for a whole year even if I didn’t get any subscribers.
During my first year, I took a leap of faith and decided to launch my Empowerment Zone made up of Sunday newsletters for paying subscribers.
Again, I was determined to publish this paid weekly newsletter no matter what and for weeks I wrote and had no paid subscribers.
That was okay because I was building up my newsletters and adding to my Empowerment Zone - Adding more and more value for anyone who wanted to become a paid subscriber.
At the time of publishing this newsletter, I have a grand total of 4 paying subscribers and I am more than happy to keep adding my weekly Empowerment newsletter.
I will give my best with the time I have available whether I have 3 or 3,000 paying subscribers.
All subscribers whether free or paid mean so much to me.
Published Newsletter (including this one) - 103
Free Subscribers - 589
Paid Subscriber - 4
Thank you very, very much xx
Follows matter too (to me).
I currently have 907 followers.
I hear many people say that followers aren’t important but I strongly disagree.
I agree that it’s subscribers that matter the most but I definitely think that followers matter too.
I follow a lot of people that I don’t subscribe to and here’s why…
I don’t have time to read hundreds of newsletters, but I do have time to read quite a lot of notes most days.
I often like, comment and restack people’s notes. By doing this I am able to support other people so that my audience sees them too. This is a great way to support other writers.
Also, there are people who’s newsletters I don’t have a genuine enough interest in and therefore I would not be a valuable subscriber for them but I might find their notes interesting and it’s a way to connect and support people.
So, if you’re a follower but not a subscriber, thank you. You matter to me.
Here’s what I’ve learned after publishing over 100 newsletters.
It’s okay if I mess up now and then. People are interested in real people and real people do mess up.
People connect with you more when you are real rather than giving information robot style. That’s why I feel sure Substack and human writing are here to stay and not going to be replaced by AI.
People want to support me.
Having draft newsletters ready to go saves so much stress. Life happens and with the best will in the world sometimes it would be impossible for me to write my newsletter on the day of publishing. I generally write my newsletters a week in advance and then do a quick Edit the day before and add anything last minute I want to include.
Substack is an awesome community I’m super proud to be a part of.
Writing and publishing my newsletters keeps me happy. This has NOT been the case with traditional newsletters.
Step-Up Affirmations For Wealth
(This is the story that I posted on Medium this week. See more of my stories on Medium HERE.
Use step-up affirmations when saying “I am super wealthy” feels like a lie.
Before we start
Before you say any affirmations for wealth I encourage you to get super clear about what wealth means to you personally.
When I typed in wealth to find an image for this story I saw what society says wealth is.
People wearing expensive-looking clothes, drinking champagne, really expensive cars, big luxury homes, yachts… You get the idea.
That’s NOT what wealth looks like for me.
I want clothes I like regardless of how much they cost, I’d rather have a milkshake than champagne, I do like a nice car but it doesn’t need to be one of those society classes as being owned by wealthy people, I want a home I love and enjoy being in, beach holidays are a yes but a yacht it not needed…
Question. How would your life need to change for you to feel wealthy?
I encourage you to write this down.
Please note that this is not fixed.
For example, someone who is homeless and with just a few pounds left to buy food and drink would likely feel wealthy if they had a safe and comfortable small flat to live in and enough money to pay their rent and buy some food for the week.
As certain levels of wealth are achieved, you can set a new wealth goal if you want to.
What are step-up affirmations?
Many people tell me that affirmations don’t work for them and they feel like a lie.
This is when I recommend using step-up affirmations.
Let’s say that right now, you are just about managing to pay all of your essential expenses but you have no spare money to do nice things buy non-essentials, go on holiday, go out for meals…
If you started to say “I am rich. I am so wealthy. I am a billionaire.”
This might well feel like a lie and be of no help to you at all.
In fact, this can affirm that you are not wealthy, rich or a billionaire and we don’t want that.
This is an example of a step-up affirmation cycle.
You may start by saying “Maybe it’s possible for me to be wealthy”
Get comfortable with this affirmation.
Then “I’m focusing my attention on building wealth”
Then “I’m increasing my wealth month by month”
Keep stepping up in this way with messages that are believable and supportive to you.
So, when you say “I am wealthy” it starts to feel true for you more and more.
Try combining your affirmations with EFT tapping. This will help to release resistance and help you accept them as true and possible for you.
Read my EFT and Affirmations Guide.
Let me know, do you think using affirmations will work better for you?
I’ve done a lot of muscle testing on people to see if they accept step-up affirmations better than what I call big leap affirmations like I’m a billionaire.
Most people accept the step-up affirmation. This is really important information as it means that you won’t block what you want.
Thank you’s
I want to give a huge shout-out to these wonderful people who support me by recommending my newsletter. You are awesome.

Wendy, your advice on step-up affirmations is so spot on! I’ve given very similar advice many times over the years. Affirmations are kind of my jam 😃 Well done!
