Are You Living Deliberately?
I think DELIBERATE is one of the most powerful words ever. Back it up with action and you're on to a winner.
Well, how are you today? I’m pleased to say that it’s a little warmer now. We’ve had strong winds overnight but thankfully my little pocket of the world has done okay.
I’m a little obsessed with the weather and I’m not great and dealing with very cold or very hot weather.
I like it when it’s warm enough to wear shorts and a summer top. Some people move around the world chasing the sun at different times of the year. I’d be chasing the not-too-hot and not-too-cold weather.

So, are you living deliberately?
I’m a big fan of living deliberately. You might call it mindfully living but I think it’s more than being mindful.
First, let’s look at what happens when you’re not deliberate. If you take each day as it comes and just react to whatever shows up, I think that’s a bit like getting in a car with no map, no satnav and no idea where you’re heading. It’s pretty pointless and you are highly likely to end up somewhere that you don’t want to be.
When you’re deliberate, you’re in charge. You decide what you feed your mind, you decide how you behave and you decide what you put your focus on.
Of course, you can still take life one day at a time, but I encourage you to do this deliberately.
Let me give you some examples.
Deliberate thoughts
Fill your mind with positive affirmations that support you, help you to be the person you want to be and live the life you want.
Deliberate Behaviour
Who do you want to be? How do you want to show up in the world?
Years ago, when I was very unhappy with my life and I felt like I didn’t even know who I was and didn’t like how I was showing up in my own life, I made a decision that I wanted to go to bed every night knowing that I had behaved in a kind and positive way.
That’s important to me, even if that’s just being kind and positive to myself.
When life’s throwing me curveballs or anything I don’t like, I try to take a deep breath and ask myself “How do I want to behave? How do I want to show up?”
Goals and deliberate action
I encourage you to get clear about the kind of life you want. What do you want to achieve?
Think about all areas of your life. Here are the 7 main areas for most people
Family and friends (all relationships)
Business/Career/Work
Finances
Health and wellbeing
Fun and recreation
Your Physical Environment (your home and anywhere else you spend a lot of time)
Personal growth
Once you have your goals, take deliberate action to achieve those goals.
Goals are anything you want to achieve in any area of your life

Hi Wendy! I am in Seattle, and most of the West Coast is experiencing an atmospheric river (once called Pineapple Express). From Vancouver Canada all the way down to LA, the coast is getting soaked. It's strangely warm for this time of year 59 degrees is our high (15 Celsius). I am with you I like the weather to be shorts and t-shirt, sandals optional.
