Do you ever feel like you’ve got that much whizzing around in your mind that it’s hard to focus on anything or switch off when needed?
Many people that I talk to say that they feel overwhelmed and stressed.
From my own personal experience and through working with people around the world over the years, I know that brain dumping is a powerful exercise.
HOW TO BRAIN DUMP.
It’s simple. Get some paper and write out anything that is taking up space in your mind. It doesn’t need to make sense, just get it out of your head and onto paper. List form, random scribbles, journal form… whatever you want.
Take a few deep breaths, slowly releasing and letting go.
There are 2 things you can do now.
Simply fold it up, even throw it away. It’s done for now.
Break it down into things that need attention now, at a later stage, can be dumped completely and can be turned over to the Universe.
This exercise brings calm, clarity and focus.
Turning things over to the universe
If something is out of your control. turn it over to the universe.
If you don’t know what to do about something, turn it over to the Universe and ask for guidance. (This means, you’re asking for guidance/help/clarity and for now, you can release it from your attention, freeing you up to focus on other things)
If you‘re worrying about something - Turn it over to the universe and put your attention on what you want.
Simply BRIEFLY focus on the issue and say “I’m turning this over to the universe”
You can imagine one of those helium balloons. Imagine writing the issue down on a post-it note that you want to turn over to the universe. Stick it to the balloon and then imagine releasing the balloon and letting it float high up into the sky until you can no longer see it.
This is a wonderful releasing exercise.
