I’m excited to share my journey with you.
Here’s a little run down of who I am
I’ve been a Mindset Coach for many years - that’s my business. I’m a qualified Life Skills Coach, EFT Master Practitioner and Law of Attraction Practitioner.
In my own life, I focus on feeling my best, being my best and living a life I love.
Through my Positive Mindset newsletter and coaching work, I aim to help others feel their best, be their best and create a life they love.
I live in Lincolnshire, England.
I’m mum to Jack (he’s all grown up now)
I’m obsessed with my dog and cat. I love my fur babies so much.
My weight and health story
I’ve been overweight since 2001 to some degree. I used to joke that I never lost my baby weight as that was the year Jack was born.
At my heaviest, I suspect I was over 14 stone (around 12 years ago). I’d stopped weighing myself by then.
I went for a health check when I was 40 and was horrified when they told me I was pre-diabetic.
In reality, this shouldn’t have been a surprise. I was overweight, unhealthy and I wasn’t looking after myself at all.
From that point, I made a lot of changes. I focused on building healthy habits. I worked a lot on my mindset and improving my energy.
It worked. I lost a lot of weight but I’ve never quite got to my happy weight zone of between 9 stone 5 pounds and 9 stone 10 pounds. This is where I feel I’ll feel my best.
My happy weight used to be around 9 stone 2 pound but I was in my twenties then. Now I’m 52.
I’ve been around the 11 stone point for a few years now and I feel pretty good. I certainly love my body so much more now. But I know I’m not where I want to be.
Life’s been busy, we had a pandemic (remember that?) and a lot of life changes. So I let it go and didn’t work so much on my mindset. I didn’t work to improve my energy body or work on keeping up with my healthy habits.
Right now, on the 14th of August 2024, I’m bang on 11 stone (according to my scales).
My health is okay. It’s definitely better than it used to be but I want to be healthier.
I have an ongoing cough and I feel losing that extra bit of weight will help with this.
This newsletter is my way of staying focused, being accountable and hopefully finding my community of friends on a similar journey.
My key healthy habits focus right now.
Be mindful about what I buy and eat. I’m pretty good at eating mindfully but I buy things I don’t want to eat on impulse (too much chocolate and sweets). Once I’ve bought them I don’t seem to be able to not eat them all that day.
Drink plenty of water - I can be really forgetful in this area until I’m super thirsty and then I feel awful.
Move my body - Just generally add a good amount of physical movement to each day.
Get enough sleep. The above three happen much more when I get enough sleep. Plus I’m a much nicer person.
