If there’s something you want, I’m a firm believer that you should go for it. And keep going.
But, this belief can cause some problems.
Let me introduce my fictional character James.
James is in the second year of running his own business. He’s doing well and doing everything himself. He works very long hours every single day. No days off and no holidays. He often works very late into the night. He has a goal to be a millionaire within 3 years.
James has about a year and a half left to achieve his goal but is burnt out, often feels ill and has absolutely no social life. He’s happy with his business success but he’s miserable in all other areas of life.
But he’s heard that saying “Winners never quit and quitters never win!”
He doesn’t want to be a quitter.
I believe this belief is damaging to James and not serving him well.
This would be my advice to James…
